How about, lock your door! And if she has a key, change the locks!
You can talk to her about it but my guess is that since she's been doing this, she already feels it's ok and will be mad at you for bringing it up.

My mother in law knocks before entering our house. Does she have a key? If so, install a deadbolt that can only be opened from the inside of the door. If she doesn't have a key then just simply lock the door.

My mother used to come in unnannounced and it drove my husband crazy. If you want her to knock first, tell her in a half joking, half blushing kind of way that she almost caught you two in an embarrassing "marital" situation, and maybe it would be best for her to knock or call first before she comes over from now on.

Do you walk in her house without knocking? Of course not, I would just talk to your husband as it is his responsibility and ask him to make that point to his mother. It's common sense that you would want your privacy in your own home, I mean geez what if you were naked or something....course that might just teach her a thing or two LOL!!

First of all that is your home as well as your husbands home yes i would tell her to call before she comes and if she comes she should knock on the door its respectful.

You have every right to ask her to knock this is your house. I would keep my doors lock all the time and maybe she would get the hint. Good luck remeber thats your house.

Does she have a key for emergencies? She may view that as a standing invitation to make herself at home. You are well within your right to ask her to knock. I don't care if she is family or not, NO ONE should go into another person's house without knocking.

My own MOTHER knocks whenever she comes over, so my MIL better knock too. It's just respect of your home.

The only exception I have is when my door is open (I have a screen door).

My mother-in-law knocks, I insisted on that. Everyone needs there privacy and then some. Talk to your husband and cure it now.

that is a touchy subject
if you ask her to knock she will probably take offense to it--but it is also uncomfortable to you to have her just come right in

next time you know she is coming over, get into a real good sex session with your husband close to the front door so that she may catch you...i bet she will start knocking from now on....lol
