steak and kidney pie

I can see eating the steak — but the kidney?????

There is nothing more foul smelling than kidney cooking. My father used to make kidneys when I was young. I ALWAYS left the house; it was so disgusting.

If I were pregnant, I would never put that into my body. Do you realize that the kidneys are where our bodies filter out waste products?? So, the kidneys are filled to the brim with foul waste products that usually end up in the toilet. I apologize for the crudeness of my description, but it's the truth.

You would essentially be putting toxins into your & your baby's bodies!!

I would stick to eating something else while (or whilst) you are pregnant ;-)

Be healthy.

P.S. Best wishes to you & the baby.

Yes, steak and kidney pie, whilst unappetising, is safe to eat.

Seeing as kidneys are the organs that filter the animal's wastes, I'm gonna go with no on that one.

I had a very hard time finding any references on this when I was pregnant the first time, and even now I can't find anything. My midwife thinks its ok, but she hasn't really heard anything either *lol*

I guess it's okay if cooked properly, but why would you want to eat that?
