Considering how bad the Browns are, should Romeo Crennell just give the starting job to Brady Quinn right now and let him learn the game? Charlie Frye and that other guy Anderson are not very good at all. I think at some point Quinn will take over, but when will Romeo realize his Browns suck again, and see what the kid can do?

Romeo best doing something quick or he is going to be out of a job sooner than later. Starting positions (especially the QB) are to be picked during training camp. The Browns cannot expect to improve if Romeo is so inconsistent when it comes to picking their QB's. I almost feel sorry for the Browns!

Perhaps they need to put their faith into Quinn (It's apparent neither Frye nor Anderson are up to the challenge) and allow him to get some experience. I hate to say this but it looks like their season is well over before it even started.

Secondly get rid of Crennel! It seems he has no answers and is relying on the tapes from Sunday’s game to make his "pick" as to who is to start. Isn't Frye their starting QB? I bet it stinks to be a Browns' fan. Sorry guys!

Frye needs to improve his skills. He has good mobility but he needs to get the ball out faster. If they start Frye in a game and he's horrible it doesn't matter if they start Quinn or Anderson they lost the game and Crennel lost his job.

If Crennel is fired then the Browns should pick up Marty Schottenheimer. Marty will institute a West Coast offense helping the QBs get quick reads and get the ball out faster. Braylon, Joe, and Kellen will run short patterns but their talent will help them make big gains. Jamal Lewis on the running game will help earn yards.

The defense has improved.

They have some offensive talent
Braylon
Joe
Kellen
Joshua Cribbs
Jamal Lewis

they could perform better if someone just knew how to utilize these players effectively and advantageously.

They won't start him for a long time, but I am surprised that he didn't see any action yesterday except from the sidelines. He has shown that he is a decent QB, and I would have liked to see how he would do against a strong defense. I hope they put him in at the end of next week's game, then maybe start him during the last 5-6 games of the season.

You're right, though: Frye and Anderson sucked monkey balls yesterday.

Do you remember the Tim Couch fiasco back in '99? I'd say the Browns don't want a repeat performance of throwing a young talent right in the mix, and having it end disastrously. I think waiting a few weeks is the right decision. And believe me, as a Browns fan I'd love to see Quinn in there, but I think Crennel is right.

I believe they took an already touchy situation i.e the starting quarterback, and they made it 10 times worse. Romeo pulled Charlie Frye before the half, which showed he had confidence in him. He put in Anderson, and he flopped too. Now he is stuck with starting Anderson, who is horrible, or completely destroying the teams motivation and putting in Quinn. Bad coaching plain and simple.......

Hire a new coach, that is easier.....

Frye and Anderson had all the chances they needed last year and Sunday. Now it's Brady's turn, you picked this guy to play football let him play. That's why you go to college to learn how to do your job. He's hired now get to work!

i agree, charlie frye has never proved his abilities, and brady quinn had a great preseason, showing that he can compete in the NFL. he should be starting by mid-season, thats my prediction.

this question has been asked

and the answer is obviously no.
what head coach (who wants to keep his job) is going to toss a Rookie QB to the dogs 2 games into the season?

I'm not even going to argue about Quinns' talent, but he has zero talent around him to even give him a shot at winning.
the coach might as well try and fix things with his 'vets' before throwing in the towel

They're going to lose anyway. I say put the kid and let him learn for the eventual mistakes his going make. Next year he won't make as many. Put Quinn in, let him learn, your going to have a losing season anyway and start planning your 2008 draft strategy.

Quinn ISN'T THE BROWNS FUTURE, the O-Line determines this, Quinn won't start, get over it.
