Today in math class, I was thinking about suicide...like how good it would be to be gone. I was thinking that when I get home that I would get a bunch of Tylenol and overdose...but I'm sort of scared to. All of a sudden, I just burst out in tears in math class in the middle of class! Everybody just stared over at me, but I coudn't stop crying no matter how hard I tried. My algebra teacher just looked at me like he didn't know what to do. What do I do?! I'm seriously thinking about suicide...

I was the same way in 8th grade, only it was English class, not math. That's basically the only difference in our situations. I would cry sometimes, and eventually I did try to commit suicide. It was in 8th grade, and I went to my kitchen in the middle of the night and took as many pills as I could. Luckily I felt really bad about it and wanted to stop so I purged them all up and now I'm so glad I didn't follow through. Right now, I still have depression but I know that I will never try to end my life again. I don't know if you know this, but God has a plan for you. There is a reason why you're alive right now. If there was no reason, then you wouldn't be alive becuase, as a Christian, I believe everyone has a purpose. There are so many things I've done in my life since then, and I can clearly see that it was NOT God's plan for me to end my life. Be careful, ok? You don't know everything, and you might not even know where you will be when you die. I wouldn't risk it because you might regret it.

Tell your parents how you are feeling. They love you no matter what. Tell them that you think you need help because you do not want to feel like that. Being gone might not be too bad, but just what if there is life on the other side? Then you've gotta deal with what's on the other side, and there IS no escape there...if indeed there is an after life, sounds like it might be permanent. So make the best of the life you have here...it's not uncommon that kids your age feel rejected, unappreciated, etc....but if it's making you cry a lot and feel like killing yourself, then sounds like depression has set in. So talk to someone about getting some help with the depression. And remember, you're special--and have GREAT worth...God created you for a unique purpose, and to do a specific thing. The challenge, as it is for all of us grown-ups, is to find out what that is, and begin doing it. If you take yourself out, you won't ever get to do what you were created to do, and then every body will get the short end of the stick. I look at it this way, if you hurt yourself, every body will be sad...not just you...so I say, try to get help and every body will be glad, including YOU. Hang in there Kiddo!

You're going to get a lot of answers on this question because a lot of people have been in similar situations and NOBODY wants you to die.
Suicide sounds like a good option because not only would you no longer have to endure pain anymore, but you would make the statement to everyone that it is their fault this happened. I know this because suicide was something that haunted my mind in my high school days. It seemed to solve all my problems, but one day I decided that I would use the pain as a guideline to do something great. I'm 19 now and I am getting my education and have my mind focused on my goal. Suicide is no longer a thought that goes through my head.
You did the right thing by asking this question. Please, if you need someone to talk to, just email me rhardiman4@yahoo
I'd like to understand why you want to commit suicide and offer my best advice to you. You are a good person and no one else can tell you otherwise. Screw them. And I am completely serious, you have potential to do great things, don't ruin that. -Rich

Since you are thinking about suicide and you have thought about how to do it, and you are feeling as desperate as you are feeling, you could call a crisis hotline and talk to someone there who can help you to get the help you need. If your parents are approachable and safe to you, start there. Tell them exactly what you were thinking and they should help you to get help immediately. Oftentimes this can be an emergency session with a professional and does not necessarily mean going to a hospital!
There is help out there for you so please hang in there and try your parents first, but if that worries you, or you are hesitant to do that for any reason- call a crisis hotline and talk to them.
Tell them just what you wrote here, that you are seriously thinking about suicide, that you are thinking about it by using a bunch of Tylenol.

6 years ago i had an older brother who commit suicide. you might think it would be better for the rest of the world if you were gone but you do not know how wrong you are. my brother was considered "loser" of his middle school. kids were nasty to him. but guess what? all of those kids that made him eat **** for all those years showed up at his wakes crying. they sent my family cards and did all this other stuff for us. one went to the church crying about how she killed him. so please don't do it, you will hurt more people then you could ever imagine. im not making this up to make you change your mind. it really did happen so i know how horrible suicide really is. you have so much more to live for your only in the 8th grade, your a smart kid you can get far. (seeing as your in all honors classes). you have to find someone to tell this too that can get you real help. us yahoo answerers cant do any thing for you.

The first thing you need to do is - as soon as possible - talk to someone close to you (a parent, teacher, friend...), and then make an appointment with a psychologist. Remember that there were times when you didn't feel like this, when you felt like life was good. Believe that you will feel like that again!

Believe me, I know how you feel. But I realized that this is the only time I'm going to get on earth, and even if it stinks it's better to stick it out than to end it early.

When I feel this way I go to the hospital immediately! That is if they have a psych ward. You need professional help. There are meds that will help you, and you need to find out why you are thinking this way. Don't play around, you may not really believe that you would do such a thing, but denial is easy. Go to the hospital right now!
may peace be with you
