Friend even if you do find where to put the oil in the gear box you need special tools to take out the screw. It should cost you no more then 40 to 50 bucks to do a oil change a filling of the transmission fluid.

Mazdas haven't really been the most reliable cars ever. The MX-6, which the Probe is a rebadge of, is much the same story. Also, it may have four seats but the Probe/MX-6 isn't very practical either. And if he "drives it every day" and it only has 88k miles on it, no doubt there's something fishy going on with that car, either he's not being forthcoming with the fact that it may have more miles than he says it has, or he's not being forthcoming with the fact that nothing wrong with it. My 1988 Nissan Skyline's driven every day and it has over 140k miles on the clock, just as an example. Considering you have no money though, it may be your only option. If you can get most of your 700 bucks from your S10 back though by selling it, you could buy an old sedan like a Honda Accord which goes for a million miles, is more practical, and needs very little to repair it.

The drivetrain gearbox(transmission) is located on the transaxle (because this is a front wheel drive) unless you are talking about one of the 30 other gearboxes on the car such at the steering gears, timing gears, etc. Also www.autozone.com enter in yoru vehicle make and year and click on the left for vehicle repair guides, they have full haynes manuals online here.

open up the hood .look around the engine for your starter motor.when you have located it the gearbox will be opposite it.its always on the flywheelside of your motor.another way to locate is to follow your drive shafts.from the drive wheels to the gearbox.

given the fact that you are dealing with a Mazda transmission, ill bet two things, one you will not find a check plug on that transmission, you have to pull out the speedometer drive gear and fill it through that hole. and two, the clutch is a hydraulic unit you just might want to check that first. also if you are going to fill the transmission please remember two things, a that speedometer is plastic and can break if abused when handled, and that tranny only holds about 2.5 qts total if you were to drain it. the only special tool you need is a 10mm wrench, and your brain.......
