With the DC insider, being the top-guy and Bloomberg free to push an aggressive social agenda... this might be a perfect mix.

I'd welcome it, but Bloomberg isn't gonna put up 500 million of his own money to play second fiddle.

It'll never happen... Hagel could easily overshadow Bloomberg (in spite of him being a succesful entrepreneur, Hagel just seems more authoritative and charismatic) and Bloomberg's immature tantrics in his past would be brought up endlessly. A big party could maybe protect him from this but since he declared himself a Independent he is unprotected.

Besides, when have we started thinking mayors can run the country without other political experience? (Or weak governors for that matter? We should really get more educated about political offices in this nation).

Chuck Hagel said the other day he's retiring from the Senate in 2009, and he's not going to run for the presidency. Mike Bloomberg has alos said he won't be running on an independent ticket for the presidency, but it's rumored that he'll challenge Spitzer for the governorship.

Chuck Hagel owns the voting machines, and Bloomberg controls the media. Sounds great
