Seems to me from a British point of view that after blowing Iraq back to the stone-age you Shermans (Tanks, Yanks) are surprised at the level of disorder you have created whilst in your own country a simple power cut causes looting, rioting and total mayhem, Der? Your approach has been akin to demolishing a building from the inside and then being surprised when it falls on your heads. I think that you should just say sorry and get your coats before you use up more of your young men and another half million or so Iraqi civilians.

Of course not. It's only cut-and-running if you don't intend to see the mission through, or if you decide to concede defeat because you don't have the committment to do what you came to do. If you have an actual, workable plan to end the conflict and withdraw, that's fantastic.

Some people, mostly the bullies in the schoolyard, need the **** kicked out of them before they concede that IT'S OVER.
It's not about cut and run. It's not about what anybody thinks, it's not about who wins because nobody ever does. IT'S WAR and we created it. It's about getting out and saving lives as we do it when we shouldn't even be in that area in the first place.

If you stay for another 5 years, you will not be able to cut, or run.

I think for those who believe this war can be won it doesn't matter if we stay for 15 years, they would still say cut and run. We need to start improving our own oil supply and stop depending on Iraq for oil. All the money we have spent on this war certainly would pay for energy projects......

Well, it seems that we have 3 choices: Withdraw, have a North Korean-style standoff, or lose. I don't know what the answer is. I wish I did...

No.
But voting to send troops into battle, then wanting to leave because it is hard...THAT is cut and run.
