My thoughts as a Conservative Criminal Defense attorney: He should lose his job, regardless.

He told Americans that our 6th Amendment right to an attorney did not matter.

Let him hoist on his own petard.

I think that it is double jeopardy or some legal term and double standards, how can you plead guilty - and fine and then want to change the plea after your friends and cronies are surrounding you with encouragement.

I think that if he was truly caught and he is coming out then that is on him - HELL, the Governor of New Jersey had not problem telling his wife and small children, Dang straight I am gay.

If he is that is between him and his god and if he isn't then what the big deal about taking your wannger out in the bathroom and soliciting someone? Or is it that your just gay for the moment? Either way, he and his family have to deal with the threads of doubt and he needs to move on from here - the more he protests the guilter he looks.

I really don't know what to think. Why did he plead guilty? I know the stress of the situation and the wonderful negotiating done in our legal system could have made him think that was best but he should have known it'd just bite him in the bum. Sure, we've all made decisions in haste and suffered the consequences but this one was just a really bad one. He can do whatever he wants but his reputation is permanently marred

He plead guilty to a crime without being coerced into doing so, with that pointed out I don't think the Judge hearing this motion will allow him to withdraw his guilty plea.

Oh please.... commit a crime, plead guilty and then try to take it back because of a LOCAL NEWSPAPER???? yeah ok... I would believe him to be innocent now----hahahhahahaha No one in their right MIND would plead guilty unless they WERE GUILTY!!!!! and don't give me this thing about being cohersed or forced into a confession either.....If I tell someone I DID something---then I probably DID it....oh and I'm considered a LIB too... but guilt is guilt....

As I've said before, he has simply fallen victim the homophobia he and the republicans have been cashing in on for years. I have no sympathy for him. However, it's hard not to take note of the fact that David Vitter basically admitted doing the same thing with hookers and got a standing ovation.

according to hazard, he purely had 2nd strategies approximately whether his habit warranted the ending of his occupation. broken down, all he substitute into attempting to do substitute into detect a delightful better half to do a delightful deed in the context of mutual contract. in case you wipe all of the prejudice concering such dalliances aside, he substitute into fairly no longer doing something which could have the effects of ending his finished occupation. maximum possibly, in user-friendly terms adult adult males involved doing the comparable difficulty as he substitute into might have known his indicators to start with hence, he wasn't hurting all people. i do no longer understand why lots of interior the professional-gay, professional-own resonsibility and professional-own freedom crowd are showing their hypocrisy in this one. The ironic difficulty is that as quickly as those comparable libs get a raffle to rally help for their reason and win public help for the persons who participant in those varieties of existence hence, furthering your motives, you abandon deliver based upon social gathering association - as continually while the prospect is provided by a republican 'scandal.' as though, they are in a position to't see how they're adverse and contradicting each thing they artwork to help. interior the minds of many, it make the finished democrat social gathering look untrustworthy, contrived and wishy-washy.

Not to make this a political issue, but dont libs talk about the problems of false confessions made under duress? I am not saying he isnt guilty, but a little consistency would be nice.

I guess at this point that decision is up to him and his own constituents. From the political aspect of things, my suggestion would be that he step down and allow someone to take over his district.

It could be that the man is innocent, who knows? But to be stupid enough to plead guilty, leaves a lot to be desired.
