USF beats a ranked sec team on the road and still doesn't get in the top 25?
They only beat a #7 west virgina last year and won their bowl game... give USF some love they deserve to be ranked.

I love USF. Leavitt has raised USF football from its infancy and has done a heck of a job. They do deserve respect. If Hawaii can be ranked right now with opponents along the lines of upper-escelon high school teams (Northern Colorado & Charleston Southern), USF sure deserves some respect for beating Auburn this year & West Virginia last year!

Put USF against a Hawaii or Louisville, I think they'd win. Put them up against a Cal or Texas, they'd have a pretty good shot of winning there too. It goes without saying that they'd trounce Michigan and Notre Dame right now (LOL). I think they challenge Rutgers for the Big East title this year.

Pip,

To respond to your post re: the game against Elon...
USF only used 7 plays from its playbook for the entire game. They were trying to hide everything from Auburn, and were trying out some new tactics in game situations. In short, Elon was nothing more than a practice game for USF.

Now, that being said...yes, the win at Auburn was not pretty for either team. But it was still a win. And that is something that even Florida (the national champions) could not do last year. That was their only loss the entire season, was against Auburn at home. As if that wasn't enough, LSU only managed 3 points last year in their loss at Auburn. Auburn had a .798 winning percentage, and were 12-1 in night games going into the USF game.

As for the remaining Big East schedule...I truly believe that the Bulls can beat WV, Louisville and Rutgers. I have not been very impressed with WV & UL's defense. USF, in my opinion, should be able to shut down their offense, and tear up their defense. Rutgers seems to be a better all-around team, but I believe that the Bulls have more talent. I honestly think that USF has a chance of a Big East title this year...

Auburn should have lost their first game to K ST. Auburn was way over-ranked. USF isn't a bad team, you have to give them props for going on the road to a hostel environment and beating Auburn, overrated or not.

Simple...standard SEC poll bias, with a little anti-BigEast bias thrown in. You have to realize that most of these voters still consider teams like Miami, FSU, Nebraska, Alabama as good teams (no offense to any fans of these teams). They are stuck in the past. The Big East must earn its way up.

Consider that everyone expected the Big East to fade away after the ACC thievery. But now we say good riddance, and rightfully so. What has VT, Miami, and BC done? While we rise to prominence, the pollsters, in order to give us any credit, must admit to being wrong. When was the last time you saw that happen? They still hope we will fade, when Louisville's seniors and WVU's offensive tandem leaves. Unfortunately for them, Cincy, RU and USF actually stepped up, while recruiting will make WVU and UL contenders for at least 4 more years.

Respect will come. But these old school thinking pollsters take time to convince.

big usf fan here. They should be in the top 25, but u know what? That will just give them more motivation to kick the crap outta north carolina in 2 weeks. Then they have west va the following week and if they can win that one they could be close to the top 10. GO Bulls!!

Edit: Lol, at tony. "a HOSTEL environment" HAHA! brush up on your vocabulary a bit before u post again. i know u meant to say hostile, but it's still funny.

other teams deserve to be ranked more right now... You had a less than convincing win over Elon your first week and an overtime win over Auburn... if you had spanked Auburn then maybe... but you still have some road to climb right now.

Win till you get to Rutgers and you'll probably be top 25.. then if you can beat Rutgers you'll see the AP love.

Edit: I missed the WVU game when I glanced at your schedule... win that one and you'll be top 25 for sure.

Edit: according to the AP.. you are number 26 with 220 points.

Why no love well you have to look at it this way. USF is in florida and that comes into FSU, Gators, and Hurricane territory plus they are still a young team to florida like UCF and now they are getting the kids that would have gone to UF, FSU, or UM instead those kids are staying closer to mom and dad instead of going a few hours away to play.

I agree, they should probably be ranked. Be patient, they will be soon....Auburn was the first test. USF will soon be ranked if they keep winning.

I agree, it is a corrupt system. USF should be in there over some other teams.
