what qualities or beliefs of the Puritans do you think enabled them to deal with the hardships they faced both on their voyage and in America??

The Puritans were hard workers and had a devout fear of God. Those two qualities kept them in line.

Without a doubt, it would be "Faith."

Faith is much more than passive belief. We express our faith through action—by the way we live. I think they did this.

Faith that God would see them through, that God would provide, and that they were doing what was right.

Personally, I am grateful for their faith and courage and their part in the founding of America.
