If Michigan's defense was able to help Michigan stop teams from beating them so bad, do you think Mike Hart would have a better chance as a Heisman hopeful? I think he would. It has to suck to be stellar and a pre-season Heisman favorite and then lose all hope when your team doesn't perform.

Hold the posts saying Michigan, Henne and Hart suck. Right now, Hart is 6th in the nation for rushing yards. In general, is there any way Hart can regain Heisman attention? Not that I'm rooting for him, I'm just curious what you all think.

The Heisman winner comes from a good team 99.99% of the time. I believe that Michigan will go 6-6 (4-4) this year so it rules out his chances of winning it. For example imagine if Troy Smith put up the same numbers that Colt Brennan put up last year. He would have won by a lot more than he actually did. To win the Heisman your team has to be good, Michigan is not.

Right now, Hart seems to be the only one playing at a top level. Henne, before going down injured, just looked terrible in the clutch. Manningham can't keep the ball in his hands and causes an interception for the poor freshman quarterback. And don't get me started on that defense.

Heisman usually goes to a person that is able to help their team win.

Hart's doing amazingly...but he won't get Heisman recognition if there isn't some W's. He'll have to carry the team all by himself

Unfortunately, the team will hurt his chances. However, he has shown that he is tougher than a $3.00 steak. You can bet that NFL scouts have noticed. He may not win the Heisman, but he has helped his already lofty draft status.
