Both figures are the exact same size. The creature appears to increase in size as it gets further away due to 'perspective'.
Perspective is evoked in this image by the pattern, and the lines on the wall.

It is a fairly typical Gestalt illusion based in line pattern interference. Only interesting to a psychologist or an artist.

Two creatures, one running away from the other. It looks like to the eye that the front one is smaller, however, they are the same size.
