I have been told by many members at my fire dept (where i work ambulance, many nights now) and they have mentioned the ghosts there. Some of them not so friendly. I didnt believe it but some very believeable people have told me all the same things. They said that fire depts are often haunted by the firemen who made it their life when they were alive. Is this true? how can I tell if there are ghosts? i am working lots of midnites and it creeps me out alittle. I can email with specifics. Just curious about the truth of it all, Serious answers only

Oh, and Peter, I am NOT a rookie, so that isn't it...And around my station, when someone forgets to do something or whatever, we are adult enough to ADMIT it, not play and blame "ghosts".

Okay, first clear your mind, then think carefully and logically about the subject. What do you think are the chances that thousands of physicists, having probed deep into the realm of particle physics and the Universe's fundamental forces, have somehow overlooked some force in the Universe that allows the spirits of dead people to survive and affect the real world? What are the chances that people can feel, or hear, or see supernatural entities which even the largest particle colliders have not found the faintest sign of? If ghosts exist, why has essentially every scientifically valid attempt to find one resulted in finding no ghosts at all and that any 'paranormal phenomena' involved are actually just the results of people misinterpreting perfectly natural events? Which do you think holds more weight, hundreds of years of careful scientific investigation by expert physicists and chemists, or a cold draught and a creaking staircase? The conclusion is sitting plainly in front of you, so stop deluding yourself when it is clear that ghosts do not exist.

Any place can be haunted including Fire Stations. It may not be dead fire fighters, it could be from what was on that piece of land. I do not believe that anyone is lying to you. There will come a time when you yourself will know for sure, as it will be your time to hear something or see something. Try taking some pictures of the areas said to be haunted and see what you get and don't only do it once.
Just ignore the ones who get on here just to put people down. There answers have no credence and yet people who know nothing about the Paranormal are the ones just jumping in to vote and not even respond to your question. I would love to hear more from you as our Paranormal Investigation group has been asked to do 2 fire houses near where I live. It would be interesting to compare with you what is going on in your house and with the 2 we are doing soon. Just hang in there. I do believe you.

I love when people who don't believe in ghosts feel the need to answer questions like this. Even if the people at the fire station are trying to jerk your chain, it is still very possible that this could be happening, and frankly I find it fascinating. Mixing my two favorite things, Fire Houses and ghosts! LOL But in all seriousness, my advice would be to investigate, accept and stay sharp on your senses. If it freaks you out, try not to be alone. I would love to know more details if you would be willing to share. Good luck!

ADD: BTW, yes Most Haunted is completely fake, (anybody can see that) but there are sooo many things that are unexplainable, and if you have any sort of open mind, you can't honestly say that there is nothing paranormal ANYwhere in the world, can you?

I believe in Ghosts but as mentioned if you are a rookie they could be seating you up for a prank...play along with it and don't let what they tell you get under your skin...If the fire house is haunted you will find out in your own way..until then have fun with it..if the ghosts they speak of have yet to hurt any one they probably won't

Ghost seem to hang out at places where they spent a lot of time while alive, places they were comfortable in. Often places that they were under a lot of stress. As for firemen I have heard this before, someone who spends a life time dedicated to saving others and as part of a team would find it hard to leave the group. They are just keeping a eye on things, like a guardian angle in the house.

Edit 1. If all you closed minded people don't want to believe in the paranormal thats fine. Go play somewhere that your wanted. And quit insulting we who do believe in such things.

With all due respect, there is no such thing as a believable person when it comes to reporting things like ghosts. There can be a number of things going on here. First, perhaps you are being hazed. It's been known to happen with rookies. Second, perhaps this thing is an inside joke. Whenever something strange happens you blame it on "the ghost". If you forgot to turn off the light or if you misplaced something then the ghost did it. Third, when you have to spend long hours in a place, frequently keeping unusual hours, then your imagination can get the best of you. Most people who believe in ghosts are ready to credit them with anything slightly unusual that has occurred.

Obviously it must be quite reputable people telling you that fire stations are haunted by dead firefighters.
Afterall, everyone knows when someone dies they come back and continue to live amounst us.

Here is a clue. No matter what anyone tells you, when someone dies, they never, NEVER come back amounst the living as ghosts.
I know all the movies and TV programs tell you otherwise, but they are just for entertainment, they get paid to attract viewers. Most Haunted is completely fake, without question.

Your firehouse is not haunted by dead firefighters. I can not discard the possiblilty of other spiritual creatures like Demons, but definitly not dead people.

Vote for the answer directly above mine :) He's right. Lots of people, even intelligent honest people, can be fooled into believing in spooks and spirits based on power of suggestion and religious/mystical upbringing.
