The Big Over Easy by Jasper Fforde (utterly surreal and hyserical!) and The Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett (it's the Scottish accents that do it!). I also whole heartedly agree with the suggestion of Yes Man by Danny Wallace - it's fantastic! Oddly the last thing that made me laugh out loud was A Study in Scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle. Unfortunately it was during a silent reading lesson - and I'm the teacher... :)

I thought those Lemony Snicket books were rather funny, in a tongue-in-cheek kind of way.

Wish they'd make another movie. The first one was really funny with Jim Carrey as Count Olaf.

Also, if you find an old book by Fannie Flagg called "Daisy Faye and the Miracle Man" you'll laugh a lot. She wrote a few others, but that one was the funniest, imo.

Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams gets my vote.
Pratchett is very funny, I like 'Eric', 'Witches Abroad' and any with the Watch.
The Bartimaeus Triology by Jonathan Stroud is great, the main character is helarious. Neil Gainman and early Robert Rankin are also good.

If you're NOT as much of a geek as me and sci-fi / fantasy doesn't do it for you, try:
Tony Hawks ('Playing Moldovans at Tennis' or 'Round Ireland with Fridge' as someone else said) or something by Dave Gorman or 'Join me' by his pal Danny Wallace!

p.s. a tip: don't read any of them on the tube, it can result in embarassing guffaws or going red-faced trying to hold in a fit of giggling.

Agree with the Corinthian, Good Omens definitely made me laugh out loud,I always knew the M25 was the work of an evil genius. A lot of Pratchett stuff will do that for me tho'. Annoys my husband, we can't watch any programmes that feature stately homes where Capability Brown designed the gardens without me laughing cos I'm thinking of Bloody Stupid Johnson and his Ho Ho's etc.

Read and enjoy. Kuta, xx

Lamb - the Gospel According to Jesus' Best Friend Biff. I was laughing in the subway! Christopher Moore is a very crazy guy and his books are hilarious. I would also say Lucky You by Carl Hiaasen is hysterical. Pax - C

Most recently read book to make me laugh was 'Seventy-Two Virgins' by Boris Johnson. I'm not really a Boris fan but this book just sent up everything to do with all the serious problems in our world in a funny, hectic way.
