Birth control has a different effect on everyone so don't listen to the lady that says it's your fault if you gained weight. I gain a little but not much. I heard about weight gain so I asked the doctor what I should do about it when I first got the shot. I paid extra attention to my diet and didn't change my work out habits. I gained about 7 lbs which doesn't sound like much but I'm the type to mantain my weight easily. Not only did I gain weight but I had my period lightly for the whole 3 months and had completely lost my sex drive. Needless to say I didn't get another shot! I've been back to my normal weight since then. It took no time too.

I did. I gained about 10 or 15 pounds with the first shot and I switched immediately to something else the next time I went in. My sister gained about 40 in the year she was on it.
When I switched, I dropped about 7 pounds within a little over a month but had to work to get the remaining off and back down to my normal weight.
Depo does effect everyone in different ways. Some people absolutely love it and dont gain a pound with it, while others gain weight. It all depends on your body and how it processes it.

I didn't gain any weight from being on Depo (2 yrs). Considering the other side effects that I'm still feeling 3 yrs after stopping, I wish weight would've been my problem instead.

I did not change my eating habits at all and I gained a lot of weight on depo.
MOST women do, and too many women have very horrid side affects from the shot.
My weight is slowly coming off, thankfully.

I did gain 40 pounds while on Depo, but not immidiately, so I can't really give the drug any credit. I did start eating more once I became unhappy with my husband and job. I've maintained a steady weight since I ditched both of them...still trying to loose it.

I gained tons of weight on it. I didn't change my diet or exercise habits, and I put on a total of over 40 lbs. I did lose some of it just by going off of it, but I had to work to get it all of.
Just so you know, up to 70% of all users have some weight gain. Over 50% gained at least 5 lbs, most gained more than 10. There are a lot of even nastier side effects, too. These include loss of hair, loss of sexual drive, loss of bone density, and depression.

I gained 40lbs on depo in one year and commenced loosing it quickly once you have off the shot. I even have prevalent somewhat some different women who stored gaining weight and could no longer unfastened it on an identical time as on depo. i could fairly recommend attempting a diverse form of start administration.

This is going to sound harsh, but if you gain weight on depo it's your own fault. Depo increases your appetite, mainly for carbs. It does NOT just magically make you gain weight, you gain weight because you can't control your cravings. As for weight loss after depo, it's not harder than losing any other kind of weight, no matter what anyone tells you.

My ex gained some. Also, every night between 6:30 and 7:00 she turned into the devil... you could almost set your clock by it.
