ok, the flood again .
If no global flood, but every ancient global community speaks of a localised flood, then surely thats just one big flood which touhced every localised global community

The epic of gilgamesh is just one example, but it's a babylonian tale, which came after the flood

Babylon means land of confusion in Babylonian, so what was the confusion?

bible tells us it was due to the fall of babel and God changing all the languages, the tower of babe lwas built to escape from another flood if there was one, but they should have looked for God's promise of the rainbow

The names of Babylon, and how it was builtr at the site of babel is kinda pushing as evidence for this

If not, does anyone know of what great confusion there was at the land of babylon, which lead to it being called land of confusion?

el= God in hebrew

Babel= gateway to God
another reason for building the tower

Michael= he who is as God is

This comes form the beleif, that Jesus was archangel michael in heaven whjo cast the devil out, so who better for God to send down to educate us on how to behave?

Timelines may be hard to verify, but i will post some sources soon

Babylon comes from the Greek word "Babilu", which means "Gateway of the Gods". Also, every body of water has flooded at one point of time, so that's why there is evidence of floods world wide.

Religion is always tricky, a lot of the details were passed down oraly and in our modern times information does tend to be misinterpretated. Firstly you have to remember the geograsphy of the world was different during these times. It`s true most if not all ancient races do have their own creation myths and yes they are similar and most mention the flood but these stories have all been passed down through generations by those who heard it from those who heard it from those who.....this accounts for the localisation (if there is such a word) of the stories, it may well be these stories were carried from the craddle of civilisation to the far corners of the world when the land masses began to separate. The Celts have a story that Lia Fail ( the stone of Destiny on which true celtic monarchs were crowned) indeed was brought across europe many many decades ago and indeed was from the tower of babel and would roar only when a true Celt of was crowned upon it. It is doubtful this is entirely true ( I would like to believe it so ) but it did give a huge race of people an enormous link to the creator of all as their mythologies and folklore tell it. These stories survive still to this day, though many attribute these to superstition and make belief but a lot of the idosynchracies and superstitions have worked their way into everyday situations that folk take for granted: ever wondered why something costs 1.99 or 2.99 or5.99 an ancient custom of giving the buyer back the `lucky penny` which brings both the seller and buyer good fortune. Just one of many customs that we still honour . Back to the point, (ramble over) again though may be we should be looking for the symbolism in these stories

"Babylon means land of confusion in Babylonian" perhaps you have a reference that can verify this claim?

Also "every ancient culture has a flood myth" is a claim often made but I have never seen any proof of it, perhaps you can site your sources for this and explain why it's a rational assumption that they were global when most early civilizations formed around major rivers i.e. rivers flood a lot. Then there is the pesky time line to worry about i.e. when each of those ancient cultures started to exist....

The tower of Babel wasn't built to escape another flood, it was being built so that the people could reach heaven. God didn't want that to happen so He changed all the languages so that they could build no more. Babel, meaning confusion, came from this that God did.

The Tower of Babel was a symbol of world domination. Nimrod got the credit but the ones behind it were the forerunners of The Illuminati. Nothing changes it seems but still remains the same.
