If you are talking about roots in a sewer line, don't waste your money. You have other problems to start planning for. The line has been damaged by the entry of the roots and will need to be repaired/replaced. You can hold the roots "at bay" for a while with a drain auger and cutter attachment but the line will not repair itself.
