Call your nearest BMW dealership and ask them. They can replace the ignition. I once locked my keys in my car and the dealership made up a master key which unlocked the doors.

You should have a key number with the hand book, from this a BMW dealer can make a key. Without that number you will need an auto locksmith. If it is a 5 series then I hope the doors are unlocked (or at least not dead locked) as that model is a pain to access without a key. They easiest lock to remove for getting a key made is the boot lock, but easy is a relative term here. Smashing the door lock should be your last resort as they are very, very tough and you will destroy the door.

Get your vehicle ID number from the plate on the dash board and then go to the dealer of that make of car and ask them to get you a key for the car.
Then after you get it go to a key maker and have an extra one made in case it happens again.

You must take your ID and registration to the local BMW, then they will order you a key. It will take a day or two. ALL BMW keys come from Germany.

All you need to do is unscrew the four screws behind your steering wheel, then unscrew your safety screw to your ignition and slide it out..then stick a flatheaded screwdriver in the empty hole and turn it....
