A loss is a loss and I'm not complaining but I really felt they won about 50 minutes of that battle. I think they proved they are right up there with the top tier AFC teams (COLTS, PATS, CHARGERS)-and last year was no Fluke! They certainly showed they are the best team in the NFC--NOT THE FLIPPIN SAINTS! Not getting that 1st down when they went for it 4th and 1 was pathetic--and that was the sealed deal.

I enjoy reading some of the answers--but some just make me laugh--what the heck does Brett Favre have to do with anything about the game yesterday?? And statistically Grossman was better than Favre last year--but really--what the hell does Favre have to do with yesterdays game.--it's comedic.

We gave the game to the chargers. If our dumbass special teams and our runningbacks weren't fumbling everywhere we would have been up at least 9-0 we spotted the chargers 14 pts.

If you saw the crowd shots of stands full of Bears fans and heard the cheering for the Bears that was as loud as - if not louder than - the cheers for the Chargers, the game might as well have been played at a neutral site or in Chicago.

By the way, if the Bears dominated the Chargers for 50 minutes, what 10 minutes of the game did the Chargers dominate the Bears? I'd say it was probably the collective amount of time that Grossman spent on his backside after getting pummeled and harassed by the Chargers defense all day.

And if it weren't for the offsides non-call by the blind referees (who, by the way, admitted in the paper today that they got it wrong), LT would have had 3 touchdowns (two rushing and one passing) and the score would have been 21 to 3. The Chargers also took a knee in the last possession of the game instead of running up the points. If they had kicked a chip-shot field goal to end the game, the score would have been 24 to 3, or even 28 to 3 if they had scored a TD.

So, is that how you dominate a team? Only score 3 points the whole game and rely on bad non-calls by the refs to prevent you from getting blown out? If so, then I guess you're right. The Bears really dominated the Chargers yesterday. And got their collective a$$es handed to them in the process.

It is true that the Bears defense is picking up where they left off, but I am still not thrilled with the offense. Turnovers and a QB who lacks confidence hurt the Bears.

I still look at the Bears as being the best in the NFC, but the Saints are very close behind. Remember the Saints lost to a perfect football machine. The way the Colts played last Thursday, on both side of the ball, would have beat any first week team (except maybe the Pats). The Saints are good.

That said I still see the Bears as being behind the Pats, Colts and Chargers. One week doesn't make a season and it will be interesting to see if the Bears can dominate their division. To be considered in the elite they need some convincing wins from the offensive side of the ball.

I would have to entirely disagree. The chargers made some mistakes during the game. Rex Grossman still feels like a disaster waiting to happen. Chicago did an excellent job of shutting down LT in the running game, but if Chicago had gotten 1st down on that 4th and one - and we ASSUME that they drive down for a TD, that still leaves another touchdown to win. I'm not sure how you can say that you know from a game where a team scores only 3 points that they dominated the game, or even more how that clearly shows they're the best in a divsion they have yet to play.

No the Bears would not have won. Get over it. You guys lost. LT passed for more points than your whole team put up. Sucks for Bears fans. Rivers didnt play great no, but in comparison to Grossman he looked awesome. Not to mention when our RB passes for touchdowns and runs them in as well, he doesnt need to play extroardinarily. The location of the game would not have changed anything. Grossman probably would have fumbled more. And the Bears were lucky the score was only 14-3, considering the stupid-*** call at the goal line, where the Bears player actually touched the ball before Rivers did, and also considering SD could have easily scored another touchdown at the end, but chose to kneel instead, saving the Bears from insult on top of injury. Good luck next time, Bears.

We saw that Rex still can't hold onto the ball. The running game wasn't very good. They got some help from the refs with that Tommy Harris offsides & fumble though.

I think the Bears should be proud of that game even with a loss. They were in the game til the end and lead for a large part of it against a very good team on the road. Cut down on the mistakes and they will only get better.

Not much could be done about the punt that bounced off a member of the return team, those kind of things happen now and then. If punters could plan something like that, they'd be doing it all the time. The Chargers player had the presence of mind to jump on the ball first, and did the right thing by not trying to run the ball, if you can advance such a ball. In the end, however, not taking care of the football is what cost them the game. If you give a team that many chances on offense, they're going to find a way to score, and the Chargers did.

Dont get me wrong, I was born and raised in the Chicago area, but the bears have a habit of having up and down years, one year doing extremely well then the next not even making the play offs (e.i. a few years ago when they went 13-3 and then the next year, fell to a dismal 5-11) I think that they problem with the bears this year is putting there trust in rex grossman the defense carried you last year, along with rex having a little luck on his side from time to time, but the bottome line is that the bears have to find a way to score on offensive consistantly. They got rid of Thomas Jones which I thought was stupid because you need that one two punch in todays nfl, so that was some of your scoring right there. They need to look in free agency or next years draft to find a solid quarterback.

each and every person desires in charge Grossman for the misplaced, disregarding the reality that the bears had no working interest, disregarding the chargers protection... and the turnovers. Punch of idiots repeating what they pay attention on television from the "experts". sure Grossman is a bad QB, yet he did no longer fee the bears this interest. The bears misplaced. A misplaced is a misplaced.. so, solid for the chargers, optimistically we can see them back. pass BEARS

Yeah, great. Doesn't matter, they still lost and it could have been a bigger loss if the Bears didn't get a break from the officials. I feel the only thing they proved is they have a worse offense than last year and if they don't get lucky TDs, like last year, they don't have a good chance of winning. Face reality sport, the Bear proved the opposite yesterday. Played in a neutral site, that's a good one.

Our Chicago Def is the best hands down it's our Rex Grossman that needs help like a slap in the head and Cedric Benson now we wonder why we traded Jones. I dont know if Grossman and Benson were competing on who lost the ball more but we have to get our **** together to win. BEARS FAN 4 LIFE
