I was wondering what kind of side effects you had when going off the depo shots. I know that a lot of people have had bad experiences on it...mine have been good so that is not what I'm looking for just what happens when you go off the shot. Thanks

Side Effects of Stopping Depo Provera:
Decrease in moodiness
Increase in happiness
Decrease in body weight
Increase in sexual desire and function

It may take up to a year to get your periods back, so if you're impatient you may want to take the pill initially. Also, you may notice a change in body hair (temporarily) like thickening of the hair around the navel or nipples.

Overall, getting off of the shot is a good idea and any side effects that are not good are temporary, in my experience.

A few months of unpredictable periods and/or spotting is pretty common. You may have some mood swings, just because you'll be changing your hormone balance again, but I'd guess they'd be about how they were when you first started (if you had them at all). Beyond that, if you don't have any of the nightmarish side effects while on Depo (lucky you!), then I wouldn't think you'd go through much by stopping.

Glad to hear you are getting off of it!

I was on it for four years. Then a year and a half ago I got off the shot and went to Kariva (Pill) immediately after so I could get my periods back. It took three pill packs/months to get them to come back.

No issues with Kariva like I had on depo thank goodness!

Hmm... I had a matching adventure. I went on start administration pills and won like 20lbs in 6 months (inspite of exercises and eating magnificent). i presumed by going off of them that i might loose the load. Nope, it stayed magnificent on there! It sucked. Are you understanding and eating magnificent? If no longer, try that before giving up your start administration. i think of the problem with hormone start controls is the load earnings using fact of this I even have Paragard the copper IUC without hormones. good success!

What the hell are depo shot's I've been on everything from pot to heroine and have learned that being on nothing is far better than drug addiction.
