£20.00 in 1300 (near enough!) would be £10,350.80.

To a low paid worker it would be about £70,000.
An archer then was paid 2d per day x 6 (not paid for Sundays and Holy days) = 12 pence = 1 shilling. 20 shillings = £1 therefor £20 = 400 shillings or 400 weeks. Today a low paid worker gets minimum wage of about £175 per week. 175 x 400 = £70,000 qed
A Knight, in 1346 was paid 6/3 per day. 400s /6s3d = 64 days / 6 days = 10.33 weeks (see above) This level of person today would get, perhaps £9000 per week. £9000 x 10.33 wks = £93,000 (rounded up) qed.

today at 12.30pm the pound is worth $2.03which would translate into40.60but that's not taking into account the rise in wages and inflation etc. i would estimate that in todays money twenty pounds sterling would amount to $5000.00 give or take a few bucks.
