Would it not be simpler to accept others way of governing and not try to change it to our way?

Brother Tubal, It would be impossible for there to be true World Government. Look at all Western civilizations, the bureaucratizes that grow up around a necessary function be come empires of their own that forget their original purpose. IE i give you the Royal Navy yards Napoleonic wars. Their only function was to keep the Royal Navy at top form to fight the war; however, they forgot that, instead their function was to have established stockpiles of supplies for repairs. To access those stockpiles a ships Captain had to bribe the Civil Servants to do their jobs and release the supplies necessary for a ship of war to operate.

Shift that to today's US Postal Service. I buy a mail box and install it. They think they have the right to tell me where, how and that it is their mail box and no one else may deliver to it.

The larger the government the more ingrained the inefficiency and graft is. I am the big dog on the planet and I run everything even if it does not work the way I want it run. UNICEF is a prime example. I raised money for them in the lat 1950's and none of that money ever made it to the needy children it helped to bloat the bureaucracy!

Your question is flawed because as far history is concerned, only relatively recently has the "known world" actually encompassed the geographic world.

Some governments have been able to create vast empires, such as the Incas or Romans. However, I believe that cultural differences will limit the viability of a true global government and the subsequent hegemonic society.
