Winning since 2009. MTV movie awards stands as More Twilight Victories. I'm not watching it until 2014. I wanted The Social Network to win Best Movie or whatever that involves Andrew Garfield going on stage.

Actual musicians aren't even nominated. It's similar, for example, to Pepsi holding "company awards" party and nominating only employees from Coca-Cola, Sun-Maid, Tropicana, Snapple, Gatorade, etc. Even if Pepsi's employees don't deserve to be rewarded (for the sake of this example), it's an "all Pepsi" ceremony, so Pepsi always wins.
Well, the VMA are only issued to company employees in the same way. I doubt "real musicians" would want a VMA award anyhow. If I were a musician, I wouldn't even show up to that cesspool of vanity and coolness.

How do you define "musician?" Because if it's someone who writes their own music and lyrics, plays instruments, and has actual talent - you should take Shakira off of your complaint list. Ditto for Timberlake and Gnarls Barkley.

I tried to watch them last night but I kept having to go to the bathroom and retch so I gave up. But what can you expect from a channel that no longer shows videos?

the male artist of the year, best choreography and best new artist wins are seem right to me. but other then that it's like why are these people winning these awards. who knew you could win awards for saying one word, like umbrella over and over again, then saying the syllables over and over again.

What ever happened to "real" music? I'm TOTALLY with you on this one! Late '80's, early '90's was my cut-off time for MTV.
