Common misspellings such as "loose" vs "lose"
Or how no one knows how to spell "definitely" correctly.
Or how about typing abbreviations like "wut r u doin?"
These things bother me, ne1 else agree? haha.

When someone scribbles a quick response to an email, I appreciate the response and don't sweat the spelling. If someone sends me something more serious and it is misspelled, then I conclude, perhaps incorrectly, that–

1. The sender didn't consider the message important, wrote it carelessly, and doesn't expect me to consider it important or worry much about responding.

2. The sender is very young, poorly educated, or writing in a language not her own (his own). My reply will be in very simple English so I will not be misunderstood. I would be hesitant to recommend the person for most employment, and I would wonder why he or she cannot write correctly.

3. The sender is either not very smart or considers spelling too unimportant to matter (i.e., is not very smart).

Or some combination of the three.

Others won't care; however, since good spelling won't prejudice folks, while bad spelling may, I recommend good spelling. After all, checking spelling is as easy as checking a box above your message.

I think a lot of the abbreviations come from the problem of texting on the phone, where you have to keep your messages short. " BTW Hv u seen my BFF 2 day?"

The rest seems to be from poor education, whether it's because of an inefficient school system could be one reason, but the other is definitely the computer. Why do homework when you can go to the computer and ask someone else for the answer? I don't know how they pass their tests.

I do not think that a person should graduate from high school without having the basics, such as the English language. Unfortunately, if they don't make the grade, they usually drop out of school. It certainly is a problem that should be addressed at an early age.

Yes, actually it does bug me when people misspell things. I'm not stuffy or anything, but I read REALLY fast, and misspellings foul up the flow of a sentence in a big way. The other things that are abbreviations don't bug me as much; I suppose I mentally allow for the medium and means of communication - sort of like shifting into another language, when you think about it.

I think it's a question of the fact that people just have so many ways to be entertained now that they don't take the time to read, and reading is really the way you learn to spell. I think they're missing a lot :-)

How do I explain the word: "L A Z Y" Oh, yes, lazy. There is a spell check button on the right hand side. All you have to do is: click it.
Wow, now was that sooooo difficult?
I hate to think that the world will get so L A Z Y, that you won't even know how to spell your own name, correctly.
Oh, please, don't get me started on a rant about incorrect spelling.
This is not text messaging.
Hey, I can write in gibberish all day long.

It drives me crazy when people spell words on here that don't exist. I have everything I can do to ask them why they are so stupid when it comes to spelling, especially when there is a spell check right above the box. I think people that spell so horrendously are showing their supreme lack of education.

I can't stand it when people use "internet slang". It just makes them sound ignorant. I speak english, so I write in english...correctly.

You are not alone =]
