When I was new to Y!A I was gunning to climb levels just by answering the questions that interested me. I didn't notice this Top Contributor thing until I reach Level 3 and I wasn't even aware that you could vote for your own answer if it's up for voting! I was simply waiting for the notification if I get a BA. Until now I still don't know how I first got that orange badge!
But I agree with you, BA percentage is more important to me than mere points. But what is most important to me is answering questions and knowing that whether or not I get chosen (by Asker or by Voters), I've contributed something to someone through this forum.
