Besides performing songs from his new album in one of those private VIP rooms.....he threw a temper tantrum because he didn't win in any of the 5 categories he was nominated in.
What about all the other people who lost, he isn't the only one....

Acted a fool is exactly what he did - and this is the second year in a row. I'll acknowledge that he has talent, but come on - so do lots of other people. Here's the article from the Associated Press:
LAS VEGAS -- Sour grapes from Kanye West — again. Shut out at the Video Music Awards, Kanye West threw a tantrum Sunday night in front of media and crew backstage as the MTV show was ending.
West, waiting for an elevator in a crowded hallway, began yelling about losing all five categories for which he was nominated.
"That's two years in a row, man ... give a black man a chance," West said, stomping around his entourage and directing his comments at a reporter. "I'm trying hard man, I have the ... number one record, man."
West said he never will return to MTV.
The rapper was nomination for five awards, including male artist of the year. This is the latest in a series of awards show outburst for West. Last year, he crashed the stage at the MTV Europe Awards after not winning for best video.

He was complaining...he was mad that he didn't win any of his five nominations and was also pissed that Britney Spears opened the VMAs...he basically said that she hadn't had a hit in years and was irrelevant but that was kinda true...her performance was entertaining but I'd want Kanye or Justin opening the show rather than what we got last night from her...

He acted a fool backstage. On the show he performed some songs from his new album. We didn't see him acting crazy or anything, there are reports of it now online. Tommy Lee and Kid Rock were acting like idiots though.

According to yahoo, he started yelling b/c he hasn't won anything from MTV for 2 years now, although he has been nominated. He claims he won't be back to MTV functions. It was not shown on the air.

If I was him and working my *** off to make good music and MTV choose Britney over me I'd be pissed as well. What has Britney done in the last three years to be able to open the show. MTV IS NOT ABOUT REAL MUSIC ANYMORE. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE RATINGS

Behaved like a petulant child because he lost. He just does not get it. His infantile behavior causes people not to vote for him Maybe when he starts behaving like an adult again, he might just win

yes it is true....go to tmz.com they explain it all..what a baby....maybe take that as a hint to make better music/videos....not that I'm doggin his music or anything, but if you dont win, there is a reason, and that reason is, there's someone better than you!
