Whats the amount of jail time if a someone puts charges for a 22 yr old dating a 17yr old girl what could happen to the guy if the parents press charges against him , being that the girl is pregnant from the 22yr old but the parents dont know that what is he looking at ? would it help since the girl dosent want to press charges and that she will turn 18 within a couple of months ?

Here's what SHOULD ve done. The young man should get a job, take care of the girl and child, go to college when not working, and try to make a better life for all three of them.
And she should have her head examined. Now she;'s stuck wuith a child, and that is a lot of excess baggage for a yourng woman.
He should have the choice ofthe above, or going to jail.

Marry the girl, and then you won't have to worry about going to jail. At least you will make the child legitimate if nothing else. If the marriage doesn't work out, you can always get a divorce. Who knows?!! It might surprise you and you may be marry for a long time.

You can press charges and look at anywhere from 5 years for statutory rape. However, his time at a prison definitely will not help with paying a child support that the child will need.

You seem to have many excuses for you misbehavior. It depends on the local law and the attitudes of the parents when they discover she is pregnant I recommend that they be informed that you are the father of their grandchild.. It may well be a big test of courage and the sense of justice for all parties in this situation. It might be wise to inform your parents also. Best wishes.

Are you sure it is illegal in your state to date a 17 year old? Only a few states make that illegal. If it is illegal, you could be sent to prison. Whether or not the state chooses to prosecute is a political decision which no one here can answer.
