I would not buy her something right now. It's best to wait until the 3rd month because the chance of miscarriage drops significantly. However, if you do end up buying her something, make it small and unisex, like a onesie or a toy.

I would wait for a while. I know how exciting it is and your heart is in the right place but from my experience it's a little hard to receive gifts early. I wasn't really worried about losing the baby until people started giving me stuff. All of the sudden I thought, oh crap what do I do if I miscarry? Do I give the gifts back or keep them for the next? I know that sounds a little strange but it put a lot of pressure on me during a time that is very uncertain. If you want to get her something go ahead and get it and keep it for a while or get her a pregnancy book that she might be able to use now without feeling bad if anything were to happen. Something for her that she can use regardless of how things turn out would be nice rather than for the baby.

If you're looking for a congratulations gift, then I would go with something simple like decorations for the baby's room, ect. If you wanted to go bigger, you could buy a crib or something of the sort. It's probably too early to buy clothes, since she doesn't know if it's a boy or girl, but you could always get a cute little outfit for when the baby's born.

If you want to go really big, you can do what's called "for a rainy day." I did this for my friend's shower, but it would be cute for her either way. What you do is buy an umbrella. Then you buy a gift card for each of the spokes on the umbrella (most have 8). The gift cards can be bought to places like Babies R' Us, Baby Gap, and even furnature stores to decorate the room. I slipped in two just for Mom too. I did a gift card for a peticure and manicure at a spa. She loved it!! It can get a little pricey depending on how much you want to buy for each gift card. You can also get a group of people together and everyone buys a gift card or two, that way the cost per person isn't as much but the Mom gets a lot!

Good luck and congratulations to her!!

You can buy her some prental vitamins from GNC or a pharmacy. They will help the baby develop properly and increase the chances of survival.

You can also buy her some "Prego pops" I think they're called... which are suckers that help ward off the effects of morning sickness and nausea.

Finally, you could buy her a book on pregnancy or baby names.

I would wait until she is at least 4 months along before buying anything for the baby.

9 weeks is a robust guess on gestation. Its acceptable interior the path of the type... out of your description i could take a gamble she is due any day now. Nesting occurs interior the final 3-4 days, whilst she searches out a place to have them. supply her a great cardboard field with some previous towels interior the backside.. a hollow decrease 0.5 way up the side for her to get out and in from and a cover on the best.. And confine her to a minimum of one room. if the kittens arent born in some greater days. call your vet. Or if she develops any form of discharge or scent

Tylenol...that's it. She can't have any other medicine besides that. Maybe some food. Don't buy clothes and stuff for the baby. It's too early. She needs to make it past the first 3-months.

I'd go with something more for her than the baby at this point...that will come later. A nice plant/flower, an aroma candle, makeover, a gift certificate for a massage or spa, something like that.

Get her a 'pregnancy' book where she can track her appointments and journal. Later on, she might use that for reference for scrapbooking.

A pretty blank book is good enough, but you might want to add a page about things she could include. Check out Borders for these kinds of books to get ideas. Usually in the baby book section.

I did this for a friend the moment I found out about her pregnancy and she really appreciated it. It was purse sized, so not too bulky.

get her a gift for HER not for her Baby. there is plenty of time for that. With all the holidays coming up people will just get her things for her baby.

Just went to a friends birthday party and i was the only one who got ehr something for her. Afterwards she broke down and was like this was a party for me not a baby shower.

So if you wanna be sweet be sweet to her for now!!!

You can make a gift basket- put in a candle, picture frame, ginger candies and peppermints (can help is morning sickness) vitamin E lotion (may reduce stretch marks) and bubble bath -etc. When I was pregnant I would have loved a basket like this.
