Hi there, ive just turned 35 weeks and today i think i have lost part of my mucus plug - it was clear with no colour etc but i'm a bit concerned as i have placenta previa and am booked for a c section in 3weeks time. I know if i have a bleed i have to go into hospital and have been told i will have to stay in. I called the hospital today to let them know whats happened and they said just 'go careful'????
Should i look out for anything else - what usually follows after this happening? when should i get concerned? Please help ive been a nervous wreck throughout this pregnancy!
Thanks in advance x

My son was born at 35 weeks. I started loosing my mp on a thursday and by sunday I had lost it all. I didn't know it was my plug at the time, I was told I was just loosing a lot of mucus. Tuesday morning I woke up feeling crampy, like a period cramp. I was waiting till 8:30 to call my doctor. At 8:20 I felt this hot gush. I ran to the bathroom and I was covered in bright red blood. I was terrified. I went straight up to the hospital and I was 5 cm. Well then my son flipped and his head was under my rib, so c-section here i come. Have you had your steroid shots? I did and my son didn't have to go to nicu and he is perfect. I wish you all the luck, I know how scary it gets. If you ever need someone to talk to, e-mail me. Best wishes!!!

I would take it easy, put yourself on bed rest of a sorts.

Only get up to pee, eat and shower.

I wouldn't worry about that discharge it was probably just your bodies way of preparing for delivery - lubing up the birth canal it happens to every woman all throughout her pregnancy some just don't notice it, some feel like it is Niagara falls down there all the time.

Relax stressing out is the worst thing you can do in any pregnancy especially a high risk one.

If you get really painful contractions (can't walk through them), any bleeding or any colored discharge (reddish, pink, brownish) or your water breaks then I would go to the hospital immediately otherwise take it easy, relax and try to enjoy these last few weeks with your baby inside of you - once they are born you have to share them sadly with everyone else.

The mucus plug is a thick yellowish, and towards the end tainted with blood, slime! It looks like snot from a really bad cold. It can take a while to loose the whole thing. Take a deep breath and relax. I recommend calling your Dr office not the hospital because you are high risk with the placenta privea. You need to relax because the stress you are under, you are putting lil one under too. Good Luck

I lost my mucus plug 2 months before my due date, and absolutely nothing happened. It CAN however be a sign that you can go into labor soon, but that is not always the case. As for the hosp. saying, "be extra careful," by that, they probably meant, pay very close attention to the signs your body may be giving you. If something feels off, go to the er.

you can lose bits and pieces of your plug al thought the pregnancy, your body will replace it if you are not ready for labor. But its probably a good time for you to take it easy. Placenta previa is serious, and any bleeding can be a threat to you and baby. good luck and congrats!

Your mucus plug can fall out all at once or in pieces. I lost mine at 37 weeks and went into labor that night but mines was bloody. When i had called my doctor and told them she said it could be weeks before you actually go into labor.

You might be getting preaclampsia or toxemia. I suppose thats the way you spell it. When I used to be pregnant with my now three 12 months ancient. I had truly prime blood stress they usually caused me. But im no longer surgeon however im certain they're going to wait till your are slightly over 37 weeks. I needed to cross to the sanatorium for a host of exams. They hooked a ace bandage factor round my stomach and I needed to lay there for hours. Every time I felt the youngster transfer I had a hand-held gadget in my hand and everytime the youngster moved I needed to hit the button. When they did result in me I nonetheless had the blood stress disorders. What I think it used to be, while I driven my daughter out she had the twine wrapped round her neck however her arm used to be in it. I had a elaborate beginning they needed to reduce me and use suction and the whole lot to get her out. I used to be due July twentieth they caused me July eleventh. I had her the twelfth. Just watch out, they by no means placed me on remedy for it. I might ask approximately that.

are you having contractions? The mucus plug when it comes out will come out like mucus with a little blood. then you will fill contractions more often, and may even throw up, and feel pressure like you have to poop but dont push too hard.
