So your doctor wants to do a d&c because you had a bit of light pink on the tissue? You need to find a new doctor.
If you are going to miscarry, your hcg levels would be low. Find a doctor who will test your levels and then retest to make sure they are rising every couple of days.
It would be too early to detect a heartbeat with doppler. I had an ultrasound at 10 weeks and could see the heartbeat, but I am not sure at what point you can see it.

Its pretty early. If they did a vaginal ultrasound they would see the yolk sak and maybe a flutter of a heartbeat.
When I went at 10 weeks my ob was surprised to be able to hear the heartbeat with the doplar machine.
Keep an eye on the bleeding. I had spotting (pink to red) for almost 5 month with my daughter. If it gets worse or is accompanied by heavy cramping then you can worry. Until then, think positive.

its to soon to have a d&c. wait a few weeks and give the pregnancy a chance. the same thing happened to me. i had an ultrasound at 5.5 wks only saw the fetal pole no heart beat, went back 2 wks later at 7.5 weeks there was the baby and a healthy heart beat. i'm now 20 wks pregnant with a healthy baby.
good luck.

I would wait a week or two. Its very early, and while a hearbeat can be seen, your dates could be off. At 5-6 weeks you can have a natural miscarrage and then a follow-up to ensure that your expelled all the tissue. Don't give up hope just yet!!

i was told by my doctor that anything under 9 weeks makes it hard or impossible to hear a heartbeat! I was 8 weeks pregnant when they couldn't hear a heartbeat and proceeded with an ultrasound to see how far along i was.

You should be able to hear a fetal heartbeat around 8 weeks. Don't worry! As long as your not bleeding heavily, you should not worry. Just keep a check on it and you will be fine!

My last ultrasound was 9/5. You could see the heart beating but I'm not far enough along to hear it yet. My very fist ultrasound was at 8 wks and we saw the heart beat then.
You might or might not miscarry. It can happen at any time but I hope you don't-I'll say a prayer for you.

I would have them do a sonogram if they don't detect a heart beat. thats the only way to tell if the fetus is still intact. because spotting doesnt always mean the worse.

I think I was 16 weeks when it was picked up by the doppler, however the Midwife did warn me to panic if she cound not find it as the baby was still very small.
