My son really doesnt stay awake very long. I would say about 30 mins at a time. He is breastfeeding and really doesnt cry all that often. I just think he sleeps a whole lot. I try to keep him up before and after he eats. I know that they need a whole lot of sleep but I also know he should be awake a little more than what he is. He doesnt have his days and nights mixed up He will go almost 6 hours at night between feedings. When should I be worried about his amount of sleep?

If you are worried, speak to the pediatrician.

Well i am not sure the answer to this question..
but my son will stay awake for awhile... about 1 or 2 hours...
at night he will sleep at about 10 pm and wake up for a feeding at 3 am and then sleep until 5 am and stay awake until about 6 or 7 am and then sleep until 10 am....
i think there is no real answer to this.. every baby is different ..

This is normal. Infants sleep as much as 20 hours a day. You will find over then next few weeks that your little one will stay awake for longer and longer periods of time.
Before long you will be wondering if he will ever go to sleep...

uncertain relating to the breast milk, are you eating healthily and staying far flung from smoking, my daughter grow to be 4 wk final week and she or he has her days and nights completely mixed up. she will have the skill to sleep hour in for the duration of the day and wake 4 to 40-one/2 hours at night. i'm engaged on getting her on the terrific time table. The primary practitioner advised me after a pair hour wake them up and enable them to consume. in no way pass long sessions without feeding them. So i wake her up if she's snoozing at approximately 7 or 8 in the night provide her a tub and a heat bottle so she will have the skill to be waiting for mattress at 11 or 12. it incredibly relies upon on the infant and the day for them. purely artwork on the time table and stable success
