If not, then who?

The guy looks clueless all the time. They should have signed Culpepper. Not saying he would be as good as he was in 2004, but he's definitely an upgrade over Rex. And he has a great arm that would compliment Bernard Berrian's speed.

YES!! It was hard to watch that game. And the commentator's discussion that Lovie Smith wanted to do what they did last year with the "defense being the offense" -- ugh.

If I were a Defensive guy for the Bears, I would have gone crazy on Grossman in the locker room. I think the Bears would go undefeated with any other offense in the league --but their offense just won't produce.

LOVIE--IF YOU'RE READING THIS--PUT IN GRIESE!!!

(BTW--Griese could have gotten it done yesterday, he's not a superstar, but he's solid and that's all the bears need).

Grossman is not the worst QB in the NFL. Charlie Frye, Harrington, anyone starting for the Raiders all have him beat.

The entire Bears offense looked inept yesterday, not just Grossman. Berrian quit running that route, so the pick is just as much his fault as it is Grossman's. The O line didn't block for ****, Benson and Peterson have now become Rashaan Salaam incarnates, & Muhammed continued to drop passes. Plus, it was opening weekend and an away game against one of the best teams in the NFL.

Grossman showed that he has matured a bit--he was stepping up, he was going to his check-down more. I think it's a little too early for the Griese calls. If Grossman is still playing like this in Week 4, then give him the hook. But if you think Griese is the answer, you're dead wrong.

This is exactly why I predict the Bears to implode this year. Rex is not the worst QB in the league, he just makes bad dedcisions. He lets the game get ahead of him, which is worse, for a QB, than pretty much anything else. If your QB can't control your game everything else falls apart.

The only thing that keep Chicago in any games is of course, their defense. But when they play tough teams, like SD, they will not be able to score the 2-3 TDs it will take to win.

I am not a big David Carr fan (I was thrilled when Houston released him), but that is someone that could have helped Chicago.

Now what about Byron Leftwich? Also, look for the Raiders to release one of their rejects (McCown or Walter) when Russell signs this week.

I think he is in the presence of some of the worst. I am sure this is a toss up topic. He is pretty bed, but to say he is worse than Charlie Frye, Kerry Collins or Gradkowski. I do think he is an over rated quarterback and should be 3rd line. It is a shame he had to ride the coat tails of a great defense to get as far as he did. That will not be the case this year though. The Bears will finish at or below .500

The worst in the NFL? Perhaps. He doesn't handle pressure, rolls out of the pocket only to throw off his back foot and across the middle of the field into double, sometimes triple coverage. Young, dumb, and full of panicked decisions. He has a stacked offense, but until he learns how to control it and lead it- no dice for him. What Grossman lacks is the confidence and power-house arm that all great quarterbacks must have to WIN in the NFL... Will he ever develop those things? Only time will tell.

rex grossman is a high school quarterback on an nfl team. he sucks!!!!!!!! this bears team should be stomping opponents but they can not score. I use to think that the most overrated qb in the nfl was eli manning but rex grossman has taken the trophy.

Rex has great football skills but his college coach, Spurrier really messed up his QB mind. He can only excell if they are a bunch of WR's everywhere- spread out for him to read one by one. If they mix it up with the run a lot, like the bears typically do, then he just cant read the defense correctly.

I don't think Rex is the worst quarterback in the NFL! I think that his decisions are the worst and his thinking is mixed up - I just don't think that his brain, arm and legs are in sync. Heaven help us Bears fans !!!
