as of ever since the bernie kosar era the browns have looked bad, i guess now at least everyone can understand why baltimore didn't want to renew jamal lewis' contract- in the neighborhood of 5 to 6 million a year those 35 yard games are pretty costly

The Steelers did look good. The defense played a great game, as they did all pre season. The offense has some issues to work out, but they drove the ball well. Mike Tomlin has proven he will win games this year, and it would not surprise me is they won the AFC North. The Steelers have put together a good team this year, and as long as Willie Parker rushes for more than 100 yards a game, they will be fine. All the hype about airing it out, look at the stats. They are still a ground pounding team. Steelers will finish 12-4

The Steelers are a good team with a offensive minded new coach. The browns have a coach that is unsure of who will be the starting QB. For right now it is hard to tell with the Steelers until the play a team that has a good defense, the thing that I like about the Steelers is they played the type of ball they played when they won the Super Bowl; Big Ben was never a QB that threw more than 30 passes a game but he in accurate with his passes. If they continue to play like that I can see them going to the playoffs with a record of about 11-5

Its a combination of both.
Its difficult to truly assess the quality of the Steeler's team as they have a new coach with a new system and Roethlisberger has a lot more discretion over the plays he runs, so there have been a lot of changes. We shall see in the coming weeks just how good they are. Big Ben has his chance this year to bloom into a high level QB - the likes of Palmer, Brady, Manning etc...but if he doesnt do it this year, forget it. He's one bad season away from being a guest commentator on sports-talk radio.

The Browns....ugh. (Im from Cleveland btw).
Offensively they still have offensive line problems. Although they have tried to address this in the off season, yesterday's game was the first time the starting line played together. Joe Thomas looked like a rank amateur out there. I hope he's not another Tony Mandarich. I dont know what was going on at the right side, but they were coming in through there as well. No blitz pickup at all anywhere.
Frye, Anderson and Quinn (who did not play) all stare down their intended receivers from the moment they take the line. A decent defense has no problems picking up the play. Add that to a team of receivers who cant catch and you have an anemic point total.
Defensively we need the offense to keep us off the field for longer than three plays. Our defense is much better than it looked yesterday and actually we did rather well against the run in the first half.
Another 2-3 losses in the first half of the year and Romeo should be fired. Coaching Coaching Coaching. The Browns were simply not prepared for this game. Crennell said he had "no explanation" for what happened. Well, if you dont know..then who does and what are you going to do to fix it? They have all the talent they need and still cant get the job done - thats coaching. This time they need to be serious about getting a coach committed to the city and the team and isnt just looking for a raise because he's been in the game long enough to "deserve" a shot at head coach. Im sick of this crap.
Flipping a coin to decide who's the starting QB? Cmon! Plus Frye, Anderson and Quinn have had NO senior QB on the team to mentor them. Thats a recipe for disaster.

It was really a mix of both. Blitzburgh Report (http://www.blitzburghreport.com/) had a good breakdown of what went right and wrong,

"The Steelers were impressive today in their beat-down of the Cleveland Browns, winning 34-7. The Defense was fierce, special teams was a strong point for once, and the offense was efficient. Things are looking good, but we must remember it is still early and it was only the Browns"

The browns are bad, but a great performance should never be ignored, even if it was against a bad team. I mean what if they only won by 1 point?

It's easy to throw long passes and run the ball when the opponent's defense looks like a high school JV team. Still, the Steelers needed to prove that they were better than the Browns (which they did), and they needed to come out and play the entire game (which they did).

I see a good season for the Steelers, but it's going to be rough in the AFC North. Cat fights all around. Can't wait to see the Ravens/Bengals game tonight to see who my Steelers can beat this season.

Well, considering Chris Berman predicted the Browns to win 34-27, I'd say the Steelers looked pretty damn good under their new head coach. As always their ground attack looked good with a team total of 206 yards rushing and Ben had a career best 4 passing TDs. Their defense looked good as well, holding Jamal Lewis to just 35 yards on the ground.

Pittsburgh Steeler Time!! The Steelers are fantastic, but the Brown's were looking pretty bad.

It was a combination of both. Pittsburgh should be pretty good, but the browns just looked awfull. They are a better team than that, but when you start off 3 and out.. muff the punt.. and comit 4 penalties on your punt, well what else needs said. Look for Quinn to play some next week. I'll be there, and hope they kick the Bengals ***. Good luck the rest of the season to all fans!

The Steelers looked good Rothlisberger was stepping into his passes rather than falling away. and yes the Browns just have to many issues to be a competitive NFL team.
