Post race interview, she blasted Milka Duno, saying that her car is too slow and needs to be removed from the track.
Not that I don't agree. But is it the role of a drivers wife, who happens to be a celebrity, to bad mouth other drivers?

I agree with you so much. I also agree that Milka is waaay too slow and poses a threat. However, it annoyed the holy crap outta me that she just "felt the need to speak her mind" and "could hold her tongue no more". God I wanted to slap her. I'm sure many wives feel the same way, but I don't see any other wives in post race interviews slamming other drivers. Ashley seems so stuck up when it comes to racing. Like after the Indy 500 when she said something about Dario winning and doing it like a gentleman. They just really need to stop interviewing her. She's so condesending!

Very few wives are interviewed at the end of a race.
Since Ashley is famous in her own way she gets the air time.
When the producer decides to give her air time she can say what she wants.
This safety issue was on her mind!
She is just saying something that everyone else is thinking.
I don't look for Milka to be back next year.
I do think that the lack of cars on the track is a factor in the IRL's decision to leave her out there running so slow that it is a hazard to other drivers.
Only the IRL can correct this problem!!!

No one did, but that doesn't stop her from flapping her gums anyway. In NASCAR, the drivers have to watch what the say, and I'm sure Chip Ganassi would have a problem with her costing him owner points, just because she is addicted to being in front of a camera.

BTW Ed S, Dario was a race car driver before he was Mr. Ashley Judd. She knew his occupation, which is probably why she married him. If she doesn't want her husband to be in danger, she should talk him into retiring, not criticize a rookie that doesn't have a team with the resources of her husband's team.

Well, Ashley Judd is a wonderful actress, but I think the way she commented on Milka Duno's driving and the car was a bit too much. I do believe she does have the right to mention if a certain driver is a danger to the one she loves, but she could have done it in a more private way. I'm not a Milka fan and I never will be, but Milka wasn't there to stand up for herself. I think everyone, no matter who, should be able to tell their side of the story. I actually found it kinda rude. I'm not standing up for Milka, I'm saying this for everyone. I really don't like the idea of someone saying inconsiderate and rude comments behind another persons back without them being there. But hey, whatcha gonna do? That's the life of a racer.

I too wish the media would stop interviewing Ashley after the race, but they pursue her and not vice-versa. I think she comes off sounding fairly dumb, and I never thought of her as dumb before this season. However, I actually think Roth and Chesson were problems yesterday as well. Milka (who I agree has no place in the IRL at this point), for the most part, will hold her line at the bottom of the track to let the others pass when race control tells her to do so. Roth and Chesson were both slow and were flat-out in the way yesterday when lap traffic was coming around.

Nobody appointed Ashley spokesperson for the IRL. The producers like to interview her, because she always delivers a good sound bite.

I thought it was a little bold but glad to hear someone say something. I don't understand why they left her out there so long. Even Goodyear said something about giving her, her own zip code.
I probably am one of Duno's only supporters. She isn't that bad. I think she is with a rotten team. He main thing was road course racing so what did they do this year they had her run a bunch of ovals with a road chassis car and when they get to the road course they sit her out. Then they put her back in when they go back to the ovals.

When the other drivers pose a serious danger to her husband, she's well within her rights to speak out about it.

Ashley's a bit of a retard from my seat, but she's spot on about Milka -- and for that matter, Foyt, Chesson, and Roth. Those no-talent colostomy bags do not belong in racing cars, and if the IRL gave two shits about driver safety, they would have parked those nitwits a long time ago.

I didn't see this particular comment, but she's smart and knows something about her husband's job. I've seen her be quite knowledgable in post-race interviews in the past. Sure, she's famous (and a dish) so that might be why they talk to her, but she's also not the first racer's wife to be interviewed after a big win.

I think anyone who sees a driver drive poorly has their right to voice that opinion. There will always be naysayers to that, and so what. :)
