I personally few it as a cheap way to get humor - the funniest people are the ones that can be clever without relying on swearing or shock value to get laughs.

I love Bill Cosby and Steven Wright. :)

I don't know, but I think they're idiots for doing that ... it turns a lot of people off to their shows and stuff. I know I don't watch comedians, mostly for that reason ...
It's a shame.
I like a good laugh as much as anyone, but not at the expense of being sworn at every 3 seconds.

Yes, I don't see how TV allows all that to go on. I never watch comedians 'cus there's no more good humor. I'd think it more appropriate to save certain language for when they're with friends. You get a star.

I don't know.....but I have much more respect for the comedian who can make people laugh without having to resort to @#$* to be funny (like Bill Cosby) Then again, George Carlin makes me pee my pants....and his comedy isn't too clean.

Jerry Seinfeld was one of the funniest stand up comedians in the biz. He packed night clubs... and he refused to use profanity and obscenities. So, it can be done.

lol, lewis black said once. he hated not being able to say the f word for a congressional stand up because f is what he says when he's trying to think of the next joke.

They are lame. Maybe they have a limited vocab. Thats why i probably dont laugh half the time.
