Back in the 1940's and 50's, American slang used the term "padre" for any priest, entirely because it means "father" in Spanish. You can see it in pretty much any old movie from that time, and it even shows up on occasional episodes of M.A.S.H. I can't say I've heard it in real life - well, any time in my lifetime, really.

A military clergyman is known as a padre. I don't think it's really slang - I think its just a noun.
