The first point in a tennis game is scored officially as "15-Love", but a lot of tennis players say "5-Love" instead. Where does the 5 come from?

They are sexually oppressed who are fantasizing an orgy?! nahh probably just trying to be clever, as if saying five is the abbreviated version of 15, just because its the smallest of those mutiples of 5 category.

My five players? OMG. Well to start off, Rafael Nadal of course!! I would also invite Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova, Caroline Wozniacki, and Novak Djokovic! I would also be nice enough to invite their coaches and/or family members!(: For gifts? It doesn't really matter! I mean honestly, having them at my dinner party would be awesome enough! But I guess from Caroline Wozniacki and Maria Sharapova, I would like one of their dresses, because they are always so cool! From Djokovic and Federer, maybe just some signed memorabilia like a racket or something. From Nadal? Well...(; Maybe a shirt, racket, a few hours in my bedroom (lol) and a tennis match against him! The food we would eat would be of all different kinds/cultures. I would have dishes from each of their countries! Something special from Spain, Switzerland, Denmark, Russia, and Serbia! And of course something American! Our conversation would be not only about tennis but about other things that we like, like maybe other sports, world events, and a bunch of other stuff! I also know a lot of languages and would like the practice speaking to them in their native tongue! Entertainment? There would be lots of music and maybe some dancing. We could play some sort of tennis trivia game and see how much they actually know about their sport. We could also try to play some sort of tennis match, even though there's six of us total! PS. This was a great question to ask! I can't wait to see everyone else's responses! What about yours?

It can be scored either way. I think that maybe it's more of a European thing to say 5 instead of 15 though.

To save breath :)
Breathing is the most important thing in tennis so save your breath.
No foot work is second to breathing - if you stop foot work you might loose a point but if you stop breathing you would have lost the BIG GAME :)

It is easier to say Five than Fifteen. Hence many players use
the word five. But there is no hard and fact rule that it has to
be five or fifteen. It is the convenience.
