What would a movie about the goddess of war be like? Like, what would the plot be?

Well the opening scene could be good. Hephaestus swinging his axe against Zeus' head, splitting it open to release the screaming war goddess clad in armour and brandishing her spear ... and the skies rained gold in celebration. Certainly one of the most dramatic births in Greek mythology!
It would be difficult to construct a plot though, since the Athena stories are a series of unrelated episodes. I guess you could proceed with her childhood on the banks of the river Triton, and the accidental death of her beloved friend Pallas in their war games. Follow that with the stories surrounding the founding of Athens : her contest with Poseidon, Hephaestus' blundered attempt to violate her, the birth of Erichthonius from the earth, the boy she raised on the Acropolis; and close the whole story with the attack of the Giants on heaven--where Athena as the goddess of war, leads the defence.

Athene or Athena is primarily a goddess of wisdom. She is also patron of the more *disciplined* side of war.
I'd hate to see a movie that showed her as a wild barbarianess "Xena" type warrior as that would completely miss the point and it would be "Van Helsing" all over again!
One of the famous Greek Legends from Athene's point of view- that would be good! The oddessy maybe?

Athena was NOT the goddess of war, but the goddess of WISDOM. She used weapons when needed, but she also taught people how to be wise, hard-working and only use weapons as a last resort.

Cinematic depictions of the Greek gods are for the most part poorly done. They usually end up being a collection of highly stylized British actors standing around in sheets. It is best to leave the stories of the gods and goddesses in one's imagination.

Athena should be played by a scantly clad dressed Angelina Jolie and she should go around starting wars and being hott... Mmmm... Angelina....
