Some people, who mistakenly call themselves christians, express the opinion on Yahoo Answers that gay people are sinners and that they should all 'burn in hell'... apparently they believe that the bible says it.
Is it against Yahoo! Answers guidlines to express this opinion?

yes it is, and here are the following excerpts of the Community Guidelines that it violates:

Venting, ranting, or using hate speech.

"Yahoo! Answers isn't a soapbox to vent personal frustrations or rant about issues. We are a community of people with diverse beliefs, opinions, and backgrounds, so please be respectful and keep hateful and incendiary comments off Yahoo! "

Chatting or otherwise violating the question-and-answer format.

Yahoo! Answers is a community of questions and answers, not a chat room. If a post is neither a question nor an answer, it doesn’t belong here.

Being mean or obscene.

Because kids as young as 13 may participate in Yahoo! Answers, sexually explicit and vulgar language and images are not welcome on the site. Also not welcome are belligerence, insults, slurs and generally objectionable speech. If you wouldn't say it in public, don't post it on Answers.

Misusing Answers.

Don't create multiple accounts to troll or otherwise violate these guidelines or the Yahoo! Terms of Service. Don't post things that are incomprehensible or in the wrong language, and don’t post the same question over and over again.

Doing harm.

Be responsible and don’t misrepresent yourself or give advice in a way that might cause someone harm.

the only way that they aren't violating the guidelines are in respect of Behaving maliciously. (posting viruses) Violating the law. Cheating.(abusing the points system)

It's against the Guidelines because it's inflammatory speech that is hurtful to another group or individual.

As for the femtroll HypoChristians posting on this question, (you KNOW who you are, "Heaven L" and "tara_j",) you can believe and preach all you want that the Bible says that all gays and lesbians are going to Hell, but keep this in mind: it's also the same book that says that if you ever tell your husband that HE can go to Hell, he has every right to pick up the first brick he can find and bash your brains in with it...and be completely justified.

Think about that one the next time you open your mouth to condemn somebody.

That they SHOULD burn in Hell? Yes, that's probably against the guidelines, as well as counterproductive to winning any gays over to their side. They they WILL burn in Hell because the Bible says so is just a matter of personal belief (and misinterpretation of Scripture) and not against the guidelines. IMHO, anyway.

yes and im my opinion making statements like that is worse than to judge anyone because their the ones puting them selves on the spot. Its discusting to find people like that if you dont like what you see look else where. Stop the hate crimes already and learn this year 2007 and up will eventually change a dramatic way that can help all know about homosexuality.

As much as I think it's VERY unkind, it's a belief that some Christians hold; anywhere else, I'd consider it against the guidelines, but in the context of the religion and spirituality section, I'd have to say it's simply a "strong opinion."

rules were meant to be broken -

break them all you want - I dont care.

Most Christians I come across are lyers - thieves and scum of the earth. It is more of a who I am thing than a spiritual quest.

All church wants is your money

I find no faith in church, no need to go anymore. I can pray with my family at home, and read from the bible when I choose.

I dont need anyone telling me what I do is right or wrong.

It certainly offends me - and I THINK it is against the guidelines. But I would not really report someone for saying that as it is simply their opinion.

It's a matter of opinion on one hand because of one person's religion; However, it violates TOS because it becomes hate speech when used to harm another individual.
We have freedom of speech, yes, but we don't have freedom of speech in order to hurt another person. That's like going up and slapping someone in the face because you can.

Because it's bias. That is the short answer. The longer it needs for you to have a bit of imagination, for example how would you feel if the homos like me or some else would talk down to you... you wouldn't feel OK. That's right. That is the reason why the guide line

I don't know what kind of gag orders Yahoo! has, but I'm sure its guidelines will not allow advocating harm to anyone, regardless of race, creed, color or sexual preference.
