Is the United States in good relations with France and Germany since Post World War 2, and how??

I just saw Angela Merckel, the Prime Minister of Germany, hug and kiss George Bush on television, and I was wondering why they were so close?

I also saw Nicholas Sarzier, kiss up to Bush too, at his ranch in Crawford....
They were laughing so hard, because Bush offered him homemade barbecue.......

French screwed us over already in this war, eventhoug I understand their new Prime Minister seesm to be more apt to helping us that jaque Shiraque (sp)

I think we should have just let the French get taken over by Germany, but maybe that's just me.

Germany also screwed us over in this war with non support and I believe it was either them or Russia who sold our enemies weapons.

What you saw was "made for tv". The French have typically always went against USA, and sided with Germany against us, except when we had to save their hides from Germany. As History will tell you. The French mentality astounds me, since they can't seem to learn from their own history, that Germany is not their friend, and never will be.
America saved their butts, yet they continue to side against us politically, (as does Germany). Lack of sense on their part? I'd say yes.
