This is a trick question -- because there are no good online universities.

Most are For Profit Corporations that are much more expensive than reputable public schools. They do not have a good reputation with employers. While many are accredited -- it is usually the easy-to-get regional accreditation and not the more prestigious national accreditation.

Look at public universities near you. They usually have evening programs.

You can take courses that will count towards a BSW from most public colleges and universities online. It's not true that there are no good online schools because nearly every school has online programs!! You do want to avoid schools that are strictly online/distance. You do want to take your courses from a 'brick and mortar' traditional school, so whether you take online courses or on-campus courses doesn't matter as the standards will be the same. In fact, you'll probably be like many working students these days who take a combination of both night courses and independent study/online courses.

Just correcting Toronto

"it is usually the easy-to-get regional accreditation and not the more prestigious national accreditation."

Regional accreditation > National Accreditation

It does prove the point that you should also research independently, since anyone can answer with rubbish such as that.

There are many fine online schools out there.
