and i'm currently in canada, does anyone know what kind of % average i should have to get in? and how important are extracurricular and work experience in the field when they consider your application?

Is this for undergraduate work? Because what I am about to say is only true for those getting a bachelor's degree.

Minnesota is a little different than other states. States like California, Michigan, Virginia and North Carolina have lots of public colleges and one premier school. Minnesota opted for a few small colleges and one large university. It is a great university -- but it is not nearly as selective as other great public universities. Still -- about 75% of students get 1100+ on their SATs (out of 1600) and almost all students graduated in the top half of their high school classes.

The university is huge -- and I mean HUGE. But the Ag school is on the St Paul campus which is much smaller and friendlier. It is about three miles from the main campus.
