I am 15 weeks pregnant with first baby at age 37, I am 100 lbs 5 feet
I have had shortness of breath here and there during pregnancy, but it goes away with rest. Nausea is common, but no vomit, until today...
Last night when I went to bed wasn't able to breath easily and I felt chest pressure, like someone was pressing their fist against my chest. I sat down for 20 minutes, it became better I was able to lay down.
This morning around 10, I started with the pressure and difficulty breathing again, after a few minutes became worse and, suddenly, I had to run the bathroom and I vomited for the first time in this pregnancy, after that I felt better, but Is it normal to have chest pressure?

I'm an RN and I urge you to discuss this with your OB. It could be normal as you are a very petite person. Shortness of breath is common but you are very early into your pregnancy. Noone here can rule out something cardiac. Just to be safe, address any medical concerns with your OB . Noone here is qualified to diagnose you and may falsely reassure you when it could be an issue that needs to be addressed with your physician.

It could just be heartburn or indigestion. They say your metabolism slows down and you might often feel constipated so I can understand that your stomach is a lot slower too and can cause pressure. I did notice a lot of shortness of breath and light headedness and was just plain lazy all the time. I came to find out my baby was taking all my iron and I had developed iron-deficiency anemia and now have to take extra iron supplements. Talk to your Dr. about your symptoms they can tell you what is safe to take if it is heartburn and check your iron levels. The vomiting can actually be good for you. It purges the extra toxins and waste floating around. Since your metabolism slows down, these can build up.

Shortness of breath and the feeling that it is becoming harder to breathe is normal during the 2nd trimester and later. The baby is growing therefore everything is getting pushed upwards (and every other way) which is giving your lungs less room to expand fully. I complained about this during every one of my pregnancies and they told me nothing you can do really except lie down and everything will settle downwards and give you more breathing room..Im also very small and they said that can make it worse because you already have so little room in there.

yes it could be normal, like did you just run up the steps or something when u felt the chest pain? Or what did you eat? It maybe heart burn, and your baby is letting you know, he/she does not like what you are feeding him. Or because your body is not as young as most of ours when we get pregnant, this pregnancy may have cause you to have asthma now. SO you should tell your doctor about it.

It could be normal, but your doctor should probably know about it, just in case.

No it is not usually.
Best go for a check.
Or talk to a doc.
Congrats! And wish you best.
