Wet dreams are very normal.

Usually what happens is that at some point, you wake up and feel wet down there -- and your pajama bottoms are wet. (They won't be wet like if you wet your pants -- urinated -- but you'll know something has gone on.) You know it's not urine because it does not smell like urine, it is sticky and has its own unique smell to it (when wet). If you wake up right away after you ejaculate, the semen will be warm also.

If you wake up much later, your pajamas won't be as wet but the wetness will also be a cool or cold wet. Some staining may also occur. Many times it dries before you wake up. Sometimes ejaculation of semen has not happened but you might have wetness anyway (spotty) from pre-ejaculate.

Hope this helps you understand the process. I rarely remember ejaculating during a wet dream. My suspicion is what really wakes up guys during this is either the warm feeling of the semen or the cool feeling of the semen a few minutes after it is out of the body.

You may or may not wake up when you are ejaculating. You will probably wake up as you are having your dream, because it is just that, a dream, and you cannot stop it from happening once it begins. However, your wet dreams will be more infrequent if you masturbate occasionally.
Wipe off your sheets as much as possible if Mom does your laundry.
But she will probably see the protein stain anyways and will not say anything, as she knows what you are going through.
