I try not to, but when I'm in a rush and I get stuck behind all the moron slowpokes and smacktards, I get antsy and honk it about four times a week, on average. Some days are worse than others, obviously.

There's the polite tap on the horn when you see a friend walking, but I think you mean the honk "outta my way!" kind of item. I do not even have a driver's license. I'm 64, and hope to have one someday, but I would use the horn very sparingly. Under extreme conditions a horn blast can save your life, like when someone is backing into you. Even slowly, all that steel (over 2 tons of it) just rolling into you can give you whiplash. Less than five miles per hour can do a number on you. Horns are not my way of coping nor of dealing. I would try to drive so that would be a kind of last resort for me. Elderly drivers tend to be more considerate where I live (South Portland, Maine, U.S.A.). I hope this answers your question well. - Chris!

haha.. i rarely honk my horn. i feel really rude if i do. even if people are coming towards me and look like they arent going to stop i still dont honk. but that doesnt mean i swear at them even though they cant hear me. i only really honk if i am having a bad day and need to take out my frustrations on someone that has just pushed me over the edge.

I haven't got a horn to honk, but I often ring my bell on my bike!

At least twice a day. People around here don't pay attention to stoplights. I give them 10 seconds to recognize the light is green and then I am forced to hit the horn.

I'm female, I don't have a "horn" to "honk". But if I did, I'd do it at least once a day.

tooting it would save my life

I went three years with a car that didn't have a working horn. I learned how to communicate without one. I never use it now.
