"Dems Hold First Spanish Debate" reads the USA Today headline. Why don't they stick to English? Give me your views please.

This is AMERICA where we speak ENGLISH. Once upon a time people came to this country and assimilated to the American way of life. Now? Now people come to our country expecting us to assimilate to theirs. Either get with the program or go back to wherever it is you came from!

Knowing full well that the Spanish-speaking Community in the Miami area is staunchly Republican, this is just another example of Dems pandering for votes.

A week ago last Friday a school teacher I happened to be talking to said currently they're catering to 57 different languages in the Anoka/Hennepin County school district.

Our national language is ENGLISH....why are they catering to the illegals...i read the same headline and it upset me...next thing ya know is that if the democrats win the election then they will change our language to spanish (to help illegals out) and the legal immigrants will have done the right thing for nothing....

i'm purely curious - have you ever forgot approximately Alan Keyes? he's black, he has run for President interior the previous and likewise this year; he improve into vying for the nomination of a significant political party, he has been in lots of debates - including one in Iowa this year. And Alan Keyes is a republican.

Both parties will need to court the vote of the Hispanic population. It's a great idea though. Remember too, that Puerto Rico, although not granted voting rights, is a commonwealth of the US and it is important to give all people we consider to be part of the US the opportunity to hear opinion that directly affects them.

it is not particularly groundbreaking. It is just a way of speaking to Spanish speaking American citizens who may not be asfluent in English as the conservatives who live in the dictionary. The Hispanic population is the fastest growing, legal citizen group in the U.S. today.

One quarter of the US population is Hispanic. They want votes. Many of the issues the Democrats talk about are ones Hispanics can relate to. By snubbing this population the GOP is simply pounding one more nail in their 2008 election coffin.

The vast majority of debates are in English. I still believe it will be in English but translated to Spanish. Did you ***** when Dubya spoke to his constituents in Spanish?
I doubt it.
People in America speak languages other than English. That is reality now deal with it.
