I am going to start college a year early (i'll be 17) b/c I am graduating high school a year early. my question is, since i'll be underage (under 18), will I have to stay in the dorms in college or can I stay at my house? my house is like 15 minutes away from the college, so i'll be able to drive in everyday....i want to go to Belmont University.

I would contact Belmont University to see if they allow first year student to commute. If you live 15 minutes away, you probably want to stay at home anyway instead of having a roommate in the dorms.

Very few colleges require students to live on campus. It doesn't look like Belmont requires you to do that.

That being said -- going away to college or living on campus is a great experience. You should think about other alternatives.

I really don't think they would make all freshman live in the dorms so you could probably commute from home. I would look into their policy or call someone at the school just to make sure.

all first year students are guarnteed on campus housing. it depends on the rules of the university and thier system. you can live at home and travel to school if you would like. it would save you money by living at home. so the choice is yours and congratulations on going to college. i hope of was of some help to you. good luck

As far as I know, they can't MAKE you stay in the dorms. You should be just fine staying at home and driving in.

Most colleges will allow you to live at home if you are within X amount of miles from the college.

you will be graduating a year early...if you have all your credits - can't you just graduate with your class..and then your highschool will pay for your 1st year of college..(which you will be going to during your highschool days)I've heard of that--check it out at your school...and then..yes, you can live at home.
