I like Esme on it's own, but not Esmeralda.
Avalon is pretty. :-)

Esmeralda makes me think of bewitched.
I knew a mean little boy named Avalon. His family would come into the bookstore I worked at. It wasn't a corporate bookstore, so it wasn't very large, but had a large selection. the parents would allow Avalon to run the aisles and knock all the books off of the shelves. Then they would say "Avalon, are you putting good karma into the universe?"
That was his punishment.
So, when I hear the n ame Avalon, I just see that little boy in my mind.

Having been stuck with a name I do not like and was hard to say as a child, I advise you to use neither of those names. Pick something simple but pretty.

I like them! I am very fond of different names. My daughter's name is Kiara, my son's name is Braden. And the baby on the way will be named Leland for a boy or Ariana for a girl.

Esmerelda is Spanish for Emerald.

Avalon is Welsh for Apple Tree.

Odd.
Remember, your child will have to spend their life with th name you choose. Do you want them having spend all the time it takes to spell Esmeralda every time they have to sign something?
