Your pregnancy is measured starting from the first day of your last period. You usually actually get pregnant about two weeks after that date but the first two weeks are still included when counting. My pregnancy book states the pregnancy week and fetal age, for example on week 6 it says fetal age: 4 weeks. So when measuring your baby the Dr. will say that your baby measures at 6 weeks because that is how far along you are in your pregnancy not necessarily how old your baby actually is. It is really confusing but you get the hang of it after a while. They say you're pregnant for 40 weeks but the average pregnancy is between 38 and 42 weeks. You would think 42 weeks is a long time to be pregnant but your baby would actually really be 40 weeks along when it's born.
And yes, sex is absolutely safe during pregnancy and you shouldn't try to "avoid" orgasms. They are said to help tone the muscles in your uterus for a speedy delivery and they do not hurt your baby and your baby gets a happy hormone rush just like you do and they have no clue why so don't think your baby has the slightest idea what you're doing to bring about that happy rush. Sex is also encouraged right up to your due date and can even help you go into labor if you're overdue. There is a hormone in sperm that can help the cervix to dilate when your time is right.

Yes, sex should be safe unless your doctor tells you otherwise. Gestational age vs. your last menstrual period is confusing. Most folks don't know when they conceived, so your doctor will always give you your dates from the first day of your last period. Some of the photos from Nova's Miracle of Life and other sources may use gestational dates. At this stage your pregnancy looks a bit like a tiny seahorse. Take no medications not prescribed by your doctor, take prenatal vitamins, and schedule an appointment for your first pre-natal visit for about two weeks from now. Bright Blessings to you.

Very safe to have sex while you are pregnant. Some doctors recommend it. Doctors start calculating how far along you are based on your last period. Even though the first 2 weeks you usually aren't pregnant. That is why at the end they say you can go into labor between 38-42 weeks. Go to justmommies.com You can put in your due date or your last menst. cycle and it shows on the first 2 weeks what is going on. nothing really to do with the baby, things that you should work on before you try to have one. Then it will show the approx. date that you conceived.
Hope this helps!

Two weeks is extra then possible too early to tell. Wait til your interval is due and take a test. Use first morning urine, because the HCG (pregnancy hormone) is extra concentrated then, and more prone to provide you with a true outcomes. If it is poor, wait one other week and retest, if it comes again bad go back to the surgeon and request a being pregnant blood test and/or ultrasound. Implantation bleeding can occur, and isn't like a interval. Just right good fortune

yes sex is totally fine through pregnancy. The first trimester is when if anything is gonna happen it is most likely to happen but sex is not gonna harm you or anything it is perfectly fine. I had sex for the first two months I was pregnant until my husband left for basic and then towards the end of my pregnancy. However if you still feel unsure ask your doctor. Congrats.

Yes unless the doctor has told you to abstain for medical reasons, sex is normal, natural and safe during pregnancy. It makes you happy and it makes your baby happy (the baby's heartbeat actually increases). All those endorphins running around all your systems makes for happy families. Best of everything!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sex is safe as long as you don't have a history of miscarriages. Your doctor would have told you if you couldn't have sex, so you're fine, I imagine.
The way they determine the age of the fetus is kind of weird, but imagine that what your doctor calls "week 5" does not match up with the calendar week you actually are at. Does that make sense? Think of it more as a stage, and not 5 literal weeks.

Don't stress it just be happy you are going to have a child! You will find out for sure when you go in for your first ultrasound. As far as sex goes it is actually good for you to do while you are pregnant! Especially during the later portions it could induce labor.
