If you studying psychology you should check out the information on my profile by clicking on my picture? There's a free ebook called "Emotional Intelligence" that in the first page tells a lot. People identify with their ideas as if they were their ideas, so they take things very personally rather than objectively. Even our personality is our idea of ourselves, opinions and things like that. We even identify with our experiences and think they identify and forever scar us, instead of thinking of them as a memory. We are really an awareness of all those things, the objectivity of which they say, only man is capable. Obviously, sometimes, we are less than 'human'. If we think we are 'bad', because of what we did, then exposure is the the mind as a slap is to the face.

Although I'm not the most "religious" person, I am a Christian. For me it is the healthy fear of God (not the you're-going-to-hell-for-looking-at-somone-sideways-or-saying-a-bad-word kind of fear). But I don't feel guilty about white lies. I mean the kind of lies like lying about a surprise party or a present. I don't mean the kind some people call white lies like the ones that are a blatant act of dishonest just to avoid a confrontation with a loved one or not hurt their feelings by admitting to something to you did or think.
